When the Saints Go Marching In (2014)

This piece is a re-orchestration of John Rutter's setting of When the Saints Go Marching In. It is one of the most easily recognized traditional American pieces out there and John Rutter did an amazing job arranging it for SATB choir and full orchestra. I was approached by a colleague who wanted to do this arrangement with an honors band and choir from our area. However, an arrangement of this piece doesn't exist for band - only for orchestra. I was asked to take John Rutter's setting of the music and re-orchestrate it for concert band. It was an incredible experience and it was truly an honor to work on the project. I left all of Rutter's original intentions in the piece - including the optional soloist who make up a little Dixieland combo.
